TASTING:
This Saint Emilion Grand Cru has a superb
presentation. A bouquet of red fruits, augmented by smooth and
discrete notes of oak and spice. Tasting continues these same
aromatic notes, with suppleness, supported by harmonious tannins.
A slight note of austerity will become softer over time.
Recommended drinking window 2016 - 2021, this wine is an ideal
accompaniment to beef stew or steak.
DESCRIPTION:
This 21 hectare vineyard, acquired by the
Fompérier family in 1986, lies right next to (4 minute walk château
to château) the Premier Grand Cru Classé B vineyards of Château
La Gaffelière. It thus benefits from the same advantageous terroir,
illustrated by this vintage having obtained 1* in the 2015 edition of
Guide Hachette.
